Please note that the dates for the IPD45 HMC Deputy Heads Conference published in last year’s IPD brochure are correct – Sunday 7th June to Tuesday 9th June. In our last notice we stated that the Conference would take place between Sunday 31st May and Tuesday 2nd June, but this is not the case. IPD Additional Events Spring and Summer Terms 2009 In response to strong demand, IPD has organised six additional events to be held across the spring and summer terms this academic year. These events do not appear in the IPD brochure, published to schools last summer, but further details can be found by clicking here.

IPD is the professional development service serving GSA and HMC members. In 2008-09 it will also be working in association with SHMIS. IPD exists to provide high quality training and development opportunities for members and their staff through national conferences and school-based training days. It has long been ackowledged that it is the responsibility of schools to identify, plan and seek to provide continuing development opportunities for teachers and IPD exists to support schools in discharging this responsibility.

IPD is based in Market Harborough and is under the direction of the joint Director of Professional Development, Dr Simon Letman. IPD's office is managed by the Professional Development Assistant (PDA), Sharon O'Flynn.
